Form inception, the plan for my first visit to Iceland was to drive along the Ring Road, which circles the island.  I was planning this trip for a long time, and finally, this past spring, I was able to make my dream come true.  I rented a camper van and set out on my journey. The road took me past volcanoes, blue icebergs, bubbling geothermal springs, sparkling rainbows, beautiful horses, tumultuous waterfalls, and rugged mountains. Each day delivered awe inspiring sights and I was able to see a big chunk of this beautiful country. I found myself constantly pulling over to take more photographs, often right from the window of my car. I selected a number of specific locations I wanted to see and researched extensively before my trip. This list was long, and probably too ambitious, given my limited time. What I was not prepared for was that no matter where I looked and happened to be along my route, there were more sights to behold and photograph. Each took my took my breath away and commended to stop, to marvel, to take it all in. 

All in all, everything about my time in Iceland was amazing. I truly can't wait to go back and spend more time photographing and hiking and less time driving. 

Below are some of the images I captured on my trip. I filled up 6 full memory cards and unfortunately lost one of them as it became corrupt and unreadable. Still, upon my return, I felt overwhelmed with the amount of work it took to process all the images that took. As a matter of fact, I am still working on many of them, but here are a few that I did finalize processing. I will probably be posting more images as I continue to work on them.
