BACKPACKING - Monongahela Forrest and Mountain Laurel Magic

June 21, 2017  •  Leave a Comment

My friend timed this trip perfectly. Our 3 day backpack in the mountains of Monongahela National Forrest in West Virginia was nothing but spectacular. The entire hike we were surrounded by a spectacular blooming mountain laurel. Pink and white star shaped blossoms were everywhere. The higher we hiked, the more colorful the forest would become. We photographed from sunrise to sunset. We hiked. We took in the sights. It was simply a pure magic. I shot with my small yet mighty mirrorless Sony a6000 with a kit lens. This is my go to camera whenever I venture out into the great outdoors. It's light and small and does not add too much weight to an always too heavy backpack. Here are a few of the images I took.
