Yeah, I know the title of this post may sound a bit weird... but I will explain. It has become my little tradition that every January 1st I begin a New Year with a camera in my hand. No matter what the weather or other circumstances, I get out there to take pictures. I guess in a way, I hope to set a good pattern for the year ahead in terms of growing my skills as a photographer, evolving creatively, growing my portfolio, shooting more and with more sensitivity and sensibility... So there you have it - these are my New Years Resolutions for 2017 or at least some of my Top 10 :)
As for the Snow Geese.... This 2017 January 1st, I ventured out with snow geese on my mind:) After some extensive driving around, I found them at last. A large flock of the snow geese has settled on the water of the Delaware Bay, close to Broadkill Beach and the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge in Delaware. I heard them before I actually saw them.... If you've ever experienced coming across a large flock of snow geese, they can be quite loud. They usually can be found on the marsh or in the farm fields where they can find food, so seeing them on the open water near the beach was a bit unusual and thus more interesting. It was an amazingly calm and rather warm evening.... As the day was coming to an end, the light started doing it's magic. It was incredible. I felt so lucky. It was one of the best photo shoots for me in a long time. I hope this is a good sign for the year ahead - photographically and not only... Below are a few images of the snow geese from that afternoon.
Happy New Year 2017 Everybody!
