My Afternoon Visit to Meadowlark Botanical Gardens

Here are a few images from my afternoon visit to Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna, VA last week. This 95 acre Northern Virginia park features ornamental display gardens and unique native plant collections. The gardens of Meadowlark have many walking trails, lakes, more than twenty varieties of cherry trees, irises, peonies, an extensive shade garden, native wildflowers, gazebos, birds, water fountain, butterflies, seasonal blooms and lots of foliage as seen in the images below. The place is a unique sanctuary of beauty and nature and a great spot for some photography. Unfortunately park opens rather late in the day and closes early. A few times during the year, the park has a "photography day", which is when the park opens early enough to catch the sunrise and the best morning light. These special days are listed on their website, so if you are inclined and interested, check out their website
